A Different Look at Money
Welcome to this article on a different look at money. This article is the next in the series on prosperity. Money certainly is one area that we all agree as being a key ingredient or piece of the prosperity puzzle.
During today’s times, especially considering the current market, it’s important to wrap your mind around a very different concept that may very well appear to be false.
This concept is that we live in a world of abundance, and there is plenty to go around. There is plenty of food, plenty of housing, plenty of clothing, plenty of education, plenty of transportation, and yes plenty of money and prosperity.
When you wrap your mind and heart around this concept, amazing things start to unfold. Doors open where before every thing was closed. Opportunities appear where before there were none. New ideas and thoughts spring up revealing new possibilities when previously everything seemed bleak. What happens is that you become attractive to money, and as a result you become attracted to money similar to a magnet’s pull on iron shavings. Money like everything else likes to flow where it will be freely appreciated, honored and flexible. This sounds strange as I’m sure that most people reading this are thinking, “Hey, I’d sure appreciate some money right now.”
There’s a difference however between those that squeeze and hold onto it tightly fisted saying there’s not enough versus those that know there’s always been enough and always will be enough. These people hold their hands out saying “Thank you for the money” and sincerely feeling that emotion in their hearts. They hold their hands out never squeezing so as not to cause pain, restriction and constriction to the flow.
Here’s a personal real life example:
While I worked as a Neuromuscular Massage Therapist, a good portion of my income was comprised of tips. Some of that tip money was from credit cards and the other was from cash. Anytime I felt a squeeze or crunch financially and needed cash tips to get by until the next paycheck, my cash tips would dwindle. I’d go into to work needing to get gas or something, but money in my checking account was already allocated. I’d say that’s ok, I’ll get some cash tips and then I’ll stop after work and fill up. I normally received a lot of cash tips, so I thought I could count on it. The difference was that I was feeling the scarcity of my checking account and not having enough money. I needed that money, I needed those cash tips.
I went about the day with a full schedule seeing up to seven people. One by one, clients who normally would tip me in cash would say, “Oh I forgot my cash today, I’ll put your tip on the credit card.” or “I don’t have enough cash on me today, I’ll tip you double next time.” More frequently, it would be the former option of next time. At the end of my shift, I’d walk up to the front desk and ask to see if anyone had left cash tips in an envelope with them as most clients do. After rummaging through the tip folder, the reply would be, “No, not today.” I’d walk out thinking, “Well it’s a good thing I have enough gas for at least one more day.
The next day’s events followed pretty similar, except maybe one person would leave cash. Now, understand that it usually made little difference to me whether or not I received cash or credit card tips, because I entered everything on excel in order to accurately claim all funds on my yearly taxes. But, every once in a while something would happen and I’d need a little extra right then. Every time that happened and I felt desperate, the money train came to a halt. After two days of not receiving cash, I’d make a note of it and realize I was projecting this case. My internal emotions were need, scarcity and lack, plus I felt restriction and tightness all over.
God and the Universe always send back to you what your predominant feelings are. So I did the only thing that would work; I changed my predominant emotion and relaxed mentally. I flipped a switch in my mind, and during my morning meditations I’d run through all of the times when everything worked out. Guess what? It always did; I always received what I needed. With a sincere feeling of always being taken care of, I’d go back into work and voila! Someone would hand me a twenty and the next client would give me fifteen and before I knew it, I had more than enough to carry me through until the next paycheck. It always worked out. The trick was to adjust my mind and my heart, acknowledging the abundance of God, The Universe, and the abundance in my life feeling that in my heart. It’s a mind trick surely but it works and always has during my career as a massage therapist as well other vocations I’ve held in the past, including sales and private in home tutoring.
Thank you for reading this article, and as always here’s to your prosperity.
