Crisis and Peace

by Tonya M. Tronco

During deep painful times, it is common to ask “Why me or why us?”.  It is important and somehow comforting to remember that even though the conscious mind is not aware of why or how the difficult life events have been created, the fact is that they were created by the subconscious or superconscious levels of our being. Another way of saying this is that  we are a three part being, and the soul and the Spirit –which is the part of us that is connected to the All That Is, otherwise known as God- creates events for the growth of our soul. Often times, our physical self is not aware of what our higher consciouness or even the consciousness behind the scenes is doing.

Painful circumstances are sometimes necessary for us to “wake up and smell the coffee.”

How many times have we known we needed to make a life change, but went on anyway the same as before, because it was too scary to contemplate doing something that we were not accustomed to? Finally, life comes crashing down around us, and we can’t run away from it this time. Furthermore, the events force us into the life change that we had the opportunity to make earlier with less stressful consequences.  This time the situation is perhaps painful and emotionally traumatic.

Another slant on these crisis situations are when no one was aware of how serious something was, because they missed the signs. We hear about this frequently with the case of battered women. Many women have said that they weren’t aware of the signs of their mates potentially turning abusive. In this case, the crisis brings us to a new level of awareness pretty darn quick. We start studying the signs of potential danger, and say ;

“Yes, there it was. If I had only known about this sooner, I could have done something about it a long time ago and bypassed the trauma we experienced.”

From that point on, we can pick up the pieces of our life. We are now armed with our  new found knowledge of what to look for so we can avoid those with potentially troubling signs and create a prosperous life for ourselves. As a society, if we see the good in even these crisis events, we foster healing in not only ourselves but in society as well. On the other hand if we continue to harp on how evil or bad society or a particular person is, then we are continuing to focus and pour emotion into a non desired possibilty. By doing so, we are helping to recreate the non desired situation in our own lives and that of society. We effectually keep the ball of crisis rolling. These unpleasant situations can be seen as a mirror for individuals and whole societies to change our emotional prayers from those of:

 “ Please God save us from these dangerous hoodlums and sinners.

To

 Thank you God for fostering peace and harmony in my life and society.

Or

Thank you God for the peace and harmony in my life and society.”

There is the potential for good to come out of every situation. If we bless and thank the Creator for even the most unpleasant events in our lives, good will come.  We may not see it immediately and may have to wait years for the good to fully bloom, but it will be there.

Spiritual masters do not suffer the way the general population seems to suffer. The reason for this is that they know that on some level, they have created the circmstances in their lives. It may because the soul wanted to experience  peace. So, in order for the soul to understand and fully experience peace, it first has to experience chaotic events. That is one possible explanation. Another explanation is that  perhaps The Spirit of a being – or person desires to show people how to create peace. This person may be born into chaotic events. Once this person is living among the chaos, he can then begin to transform the chaos into peace and demonstrate to others how to do so in their own lives.

 Perhaps this is God’s answer to our prayers of Peace on Earth. Perhaps, he is showing us how to transform the chaos that we have created for ourselves into peace through certain individuals. Since we have free will, we have the right to create and experience whatever we choose, and God will not go against our free will. Since we have created this chaos, it is up to us to wholeheartledly choose to create peace, and start doing so.

This brings me to my next statement that God does not forsake us – ever! If we choose to transform our lives into peaceful existences, we have the free will to do so. God will show us how, and just perhaps he has already sent people into our lives to show us how. Start seeking and you will find someone. If that person is not in your immediate family or among your group of acquaintances, keep seeking. With the popularity of the internet, meeting people on the other side of the globe is within reach today, where fifty years ago the possibility was much more difficult.

To your Prosperity,

P.S. Understanding that at least on some level we are responsible for the incidents that have occured in our lives helps us to take responsibility. Once resposibility is taken, then we can consciously  start to change the events in our lives to new experiences that are more desired and prosperous for us and the world.
